But in reality, this race becomes a curse for our health. Ignorance, easy accessibility with fast foods, no time to cook, ready to cook food has ruined our nutritional levels. On top of that, the way so called fresh food is sold has no guarantee of how well are its nutrient are retaining.
It is mandatory for each one of us to understand the importance eating local, fresh, hygienic and meet the requirements of our body as much as possible.
Today, I will be sharing with a variation of INDIAN SEEDS available easily around you which can aid good health like IMPROVING METABOLISM, lOWERS CHOLESTROL, DETOX YOUR KIDNEY AND LIVER, IMPROVES HEART HEALTH, and OFCOURSE THE MOST FAVORITE OF ALL, HELPS IN FAT LOSS.
If you include them in your daily routine along with homemade foods, you’ll not need a doctor to treat you.
First and foremost is our all time favourite and most discussed food item:
FLAXSEEDS
Benefits:
- Fantastic source of Omega-3 fatty acids and many essential minerals.
- An amazing substitute of fish oil for vegetarians.
- It contains lignans, which are chemical compounds that carry antioxidants and enzymes that have many benefits.
- Do you have high cholesterol or diabetes?? The flaxseed intake is a must!
- Great for PCOD and hypothyroid patients
How to eat?
- Roast or eat raw 2tbsp post lunch and dinner.
- Buy small quantity only if you are eating raw because it may turn rancid.
PUMPKIN SEEDS
Benefits:
- Again a very rich source of Omega 3.
- Rich source of magnesium (good for healthy heart), zinc (immune support), and tryptophan (for restful sleep).
- Pumpkin seed oil has been found to exhibit anti-inflammatory effects.
- When mixed with flaxseeds, pumpkin seeds are rich in healthy fats, antioxidants and fibres, provide benefits for heart and liver health.
How to eat?
- Dry, roast and eat 2tsp/day
MUSKMELON SEEDS
I remember my grandmother used to take out all the seeds from muskmelon and keep it for drying in sun. It tastes as good as flaxseeds.

- Retaining vitamin A and C boosting our immunity and eye sight.
- It also aids weight loss as it is a rich source of omega 3
- Controls diabetes, cholesterol and digestion.
How to eat?
- Dry, Roast and have 2tbsp every day.
PAPAYA SEEDS
Benefits:
- Papaya seeds have antibacterial properties and are effective against infections.
- They may protect the kidneys from toxin-induced kidney failure.
- Also eliminates intestinal parasites.
- They help detoxify the liver.
How to eat?
- Dry, roast and have 1tsp/d.
WATERMELON SEEDS
Benefits:
- These seeds contain some essential amino acids which improves the body’s metabolism and cardiovascular system.
- They are excellent sources of multivitamin B and can replace some of the supplements which maintain healthy blood, nervous system and effective immune response.
- Watermelon seeds are effective in recovering health after illness and sharpening your memory.

Note: You’ll not eat all the seeds on the same day. You can make variations every day by consuming different seeds. Choose the seeds according to the availability and season. Well the good news is that it has no side effects even if you are not suffering from any disease. Just remember to have it as per recommendation 😆
